Saturday Night - Part II; That's All, Folks!

Well, this is "it", I suppose. Suzanne and Anne are probably already planning for the next one. At least we'll know what not to do next time. . . Flickr! What was I thinking? This blog will remain on line - perhaps forever - but you can never tell. If you have some favorite pictures from the blog, it couldn't hurt to download them for safe keeping.

Jan talking to Pat, Anne, Barbara, and Katie talking to each other, and John addressing his dessert. . . that lovely apple pie.

This should have been a much better picture. At some point I turned off my flash and there was plenty of light for that pic. But I left the flash off and never checked the rest of the pics till I got them on my computer. I may work on this one some more.

It's getting late, children. Table 3 people are now at Table 2 with Charlie. Karen moved from Table 2 to 1, and so did Patrick I see.

Why am I taking pictures? I could be sitting with Jan and let Pat take pictures awhile. The Table 3 crowd, now at Table 2, sure has been quiet. I wonder if they ate all of their apple pie. . .

Alright, already! Click.

Bill, Suzanne, John, Lew, Kip, Pat, Anne, and Tony. I'm really glad Katie took this - or was it Karen? I didn't plan any pictures and I certainly should have. When am I going to have another chance? Hopeless!

Katie and John, Kip, Anne and Pat. Where'd Jan go? And Mary?

Ah, a Wutschel picture!

And a Woody picture!

I should have been paying attention to the discussion. . . Pat appears incredulous.

Now they appear to be comparing hand size. . . huh?

Pat may be willing to concede. . . but it would be unusual.

Is Lew threatening to "bring the hammer down"? What's going on?

I wish I could hear. It looked pretty interesting. . .

Outstanding then, and outstanding now.

Saturday Night - Part I

We had our barbecue dinner in the Avadim lunchroom, courtesy of Suzanne's brother, Steve, and it was just perfect for our purposes. Thanks, Steve. Thanks also to all those who pitched in with the set-up and the clean-up, especially Karen, Katie, and Kathryn. Suzanne, Anne, and Jan - everything was gran(d)!

John and Katie, Chuck and Barbara, and Jan.

Suzie and Pat. Charlie talking to Anne. Kip over by the clock. . .

Table 1 seems to be staying put. Pat and Karen are at table 2. Tony, Kip, Barbara Board, Mary and Bill are around Table 3. Charlie and Anne are still talking as Kathryn breezes by.

Barbara is at Table 1. Lew, Suzie, and Pat at Table 2. And Tony, Kip, Barbara are at Table 3 with Mary and Bill.

Table 2: Suzie and Lew. Table 3: Kathryn, Tony, Kip, Barbara, Bill and Mary.

Table 1: Still no movement; Jan is just out of frame to the left.

Table 1 is maintaining the status quo. . . but Karen's returned to Table 2 and Anne is shooting pictures without a license (and pictures of me for heaven's sake)!

Everyone settled briefly while Tony gave a nod to our collective good fortune just to be here 50 years after graduating, and commented on classmates and/or spouses who have health issues and those not able to be with us for whatever reason. Kathryn, Kip and the rest of us appreciated his sentiment.

Lew is behind the rose on the left, while Suzanne and Kip chat.

Anne and Katie are engaged with Barbara Board, Jan is in conversation with Pat, Barbara Butcher is talking to Karen, Chuck's talking to John, and Tony's fixing a drink.

Table 1, same as above. Table 2, Kathryn changed tables, Mary turned her chair around, and Charlie's thinking about where to stir up trouble next.

Pat, Jan, Anne, Barbara, Katie, and John. . . and way too much of that apple pie still on the table.

John, Chuck, Barbara, Suzanne, Karen and, at Table 2, Lew.

Kathryn and Mary.

Lew, Kathryn, Mary, and Charlie. . . and even more apple pie at Table 2.

Patrick and Jan, with Anne hiding behind the pole.

Saturday's Golf Match At Broadmoor

These golfers walked into the pro shop and announced they had a 10:57 tee time, then arranged for carts, bought some drinks for later, and settled up, ". . . just three of us playing, but we brought our photographer."

It was a beautiful day and I enjoyed riding with Kip on the front nine.

No one seemed thrilled to be out there though, which surprised me a little.

But when I got close enough to note expressions, they did appear to be enjoying themselves.

The carts were restricted to the cart paths and I don't do walking anymore. . .

. . . hence the generally long shots.

I had allowed my mind to drift - sleep deprivation does that - but as she strode off to her next shot. . .

Kip pointed out a heron and a turtle for me to shoot while I waited.

I figured they needed to lighten up. I told Charlie later that the only one making any shots out there was me.

I departed at the turn and left them to their game. Back at the motel I found the 'Horns were being ambushed by the Oklahoma State Cowboys in Stillwater. Karma, I guess. I should have been nicer to the golfers.
