This will be a brief intro to the
new Class of ’66 Photo-Blog, wherein all the Flickr frustrations can be put
behind us. I spent the last couple days downloading all the pictures from the Class
Archive – one at a time. Yeah, you can
upload them six at a time, but downloads. . .
I know everyone who never got on
the Flickr site is anxious to see the pictures finally, so I’m just going to
start posting them. Remember, almost all these pictures are larger than the thumbnails shown. Click on any of them for a full size version and download it rather than the thumbnail.
In appreciation for John Helms’ assistance trying to make
the Flickr plan work, I’ll upload his images first. As I learned during the
course of this exercise, not everyone has a huge store of pictures ready to be scanned
and/or posted. I’ll try to keep my garrulous nature under control and only
comment (at least initially) on the ones that cry out for something. We’ll see
over the next few days how that works.
John’s first picture is the St.
Eugene’s Class of ‘62, and after staring at it for a while I was surprised by
the number of kids I met as freshmen at ACH. Comments are enabled, and if those
of you in the picture will start identifying the class, I’ll add a caption with
everyone’s names.

John kept adding pictures for me
while we were trying to understand Flickr and it helped, but Flickr’s problems
were too much to overcome.

Those are John's digital contributions to the Archive; as I said, his generous assistance helped me understand eventually that Flickr was a dead end for our purposes and we needed a new tactic.
Still without a REAL plan, I think I'll just add some more contributions here then launch the Photo-Blog version of the Archive. Expect some minor tweaks to the look as we go along. It seems I'm never satisfied. To get pictures out as quickly as possible, I may put out more than one post per day. To keep up, you might want to type your email address in the "Follow By Email" window (above my profile picture) to get notifications whenever I publish a new post.

I tried and tried to get hold of
Brian Robertson and, just as I was about to give up, I got an email from him
that said “I heard you were trying to find me.” After brief volley, he told me
he and Margie wouldn’t be able to make the Reunion because they’d be in Ireland.
I said we’d miss him, but mentioned he could send me a couple of pictures from
Ireland and I’d post them to the Archive and a few minutes later received an
email with the two pictures below. I guess they were taking the scenic route to
Ireland.

I just got a new picture from Suzanne, who said she had coffee with Steve Maynard this morning. Since this Photo-Blog is too new to have any structure yet, let's free-style a little. . .
